This position provides support and assistance to international students and scholars. Specific duties include but are not limited to: managing federal SEVIS reporting requirements on behalf of Cal State East Bay (i.e. communication with the Department of Homeland Security about the F-1 students admitted to and attending Cal State East Bay); assisting international students (F-1) to understand the complex nature of the legal status in the U.S. vis à-vis federal regulations and university academic policies and procedures; assisting international students to obtain immigration benefits such as curricular practical training & optional practical training; assisting with on-going services such as orientation, immigration workshops and other non-immigration focused programs; and assisting with international recruitment efforts, as needed.

The position operates under the limited supervision of the Director of University Parking & Alternative Transportation Services and works independently to coordinate and perform operational support activities throughout the organization. The position will also handle cash and other forms of payment, reconcile accounts, and manage collections. The ASC II position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing various Departmental fiscal records, preparing and inputting the annual schedule of classes into CMS HR and Astra, and organizing both the Part-Time and Full-Time Faculty Hiring Committees in their recruiting and hiring efforts. The ASC II develops and implements procedures and timelines for the department and recommends them to the Department Chair.
