The Department of American Indian Studies (AIS) at the California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is located on the traditional territory and homelands of the Luiseño/Payómkawichum people this land remains the shared space among the Kuupangaxwichem/Cupeño and Kumeyaay and Ipai peoples. The AIS department invites applications for two tenure-track positions in American Indian Studies. We seek individuals with a commitment to the enhancement of our American Indian Studies major and department. This position is an excellent opportunity for scholars interested in a career at a teaching-centered institution that is home to the largest per capita American Indian student population in California.
Lecturer - BIOT 675: BioSciences Across the Border A Global Immersion Course (Winter 2024) San Marcos
The Department of Biology at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for the Masters of Biotechnology program to teach a Global Immersions Course, BIOT 675: BioSciences Across the Border. A two-unit global immersion course that provides a foundational understanding of today’s global enterprise’s interconnection between local and global processes. The course addresses the impact different cultures and business practices impose on essential relationships, behaviors, strategies, values, and attitudes when negotiating and conducting business in a global environment. It will include analysis of the environment in which international business operates: multinational enterprises; international trade theory, foreign exchange and international monetary policy, global marketing and R&D.

The Social Sciences Program at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for fall 2023 to teach SSCI 301: Survey of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. The course introduces students to interdisciplinary thinking to examine central questions encountered over the life course related to, for example, becoming a person, group interaction, families, education, politics, and globalization. This course focuses on the ways these experiences are shaped by contemporary societal processes addressed by the social sciences, including gender, race and class, and sexuality. The faculty in this position will provide 10-15 hours of supervision per course, inclusive of four (4) face-to-face group supervisory sessions per semester, led by the PHMNP Program Coordinator. Faculty also conduct a minimum of two (2) on site visits with the student and the preceptor, and clinical sites vary within San Diego and Riverside Counties.
