The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) invites applications for a non-renewable one-year visiting assistant professor of Biology to begin August 2026. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Molecular/Cellular Biology or a closely related field. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in neurobiology, including developmental, cellular, or molecular neuroscience and those that can teach our pre-health courses. Candidates must be committed to contributing to an undergraduate-centered, pedagogically innovative, and modern research-integrated biology degree program.

This is an intermediate studio course that meets on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 11:50 a.m. The course builds upon foundational principles of visual communication and introduces students to more structured conceptual thinking, typographic systems, and multi-platform design applications. Students engage in research-driven design processes, iterative development, critique, and craft-based production while strengthening professional workflows and presentation skills. Emphasis is placed on developing cohesive visual systems across formats, understanding audience engagement, and refining design decisions for clarity, usability, and meaning. The course prepares students for upper-division studio work through increased rigor in methodology, production standards, and conceptual development.
