The Department of Finance at San Francisco State University invites applications for part-time lecturer positions (non-tenure track) in corporate finance, investments, risk management, and international finance for Fall 2024 - Spring 2025.

The Finance Department currently has 12 full-time tenure/tenure-track and several part-time faculties. The faculty are actively engaging in research. Their publications have appeared in top-quality journals, including Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Financial Economics, Financial Analyst Journal, and Journal of Behavioral Finance. Our part-time faculties have advanced degrees in finance or related disciplines and experience in banking, fund management, real estate, and government agencies. The department serves a diversified body of students interested in various finance subjects. The department culture fosters intellectual collaborations among faculty and students.

The department seeks candidates with the capacity for energetic, inclusive, and supportive teaching in diverse classrooms. Applicants must have at least an M.S./M.A. (Ph.D. preferred) in finance or a related field. Professional experience, in addition to the master’s degree, will also be considered. University-level teaching experience is preferred;

  • A cover letter expressing interest in the classes you would like to teach.
  • A current Curriculum Vitae (including details of current and previous teaching experience: date of teaching, institution, class size)
  • The names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails of two professional references who are in a position to comment on the applicant’s current or previous teaching experience. 

Applications will be accepted up until the beginning of the term or until the position is filled.

Salary

Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,007 – $6,359 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,925 – $12,594 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,500 – $13,831 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,184 – $14,487 per month

Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
