The Management, HR and Information Systems Area of the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure track, academic year position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the primary area of Information Systems (IS). Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated track record or evidence of potential in both teaching and research and those who have strong teaching interest in one or more of the following fields: cybersecurity, cloud computing, and/or networking. The position is designed to strengthen Cal Poly’s on-going efforts in enhancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) climate, thus the candidate is expected to incorporate a DEI emphasis in instruction, research, and service.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated; anticipated starting salary range is $135,500 - $149,800.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have completed or be close to the completion of a doctorate or equivalent degree in Information Systems or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution. The PhD/DBA should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2025. Applicants are expected to demonstrate exemplary teaching, a strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in their professional field. Applicants must have the ability to work with diverse students and/or engage diversity in the curriculum.

Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
