The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $100,008 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Organizational Development Manager to be responsible for various organization development activities, including oversight of CPDC’s Facilities Management Institute (FMI), management of FMI’s learning management system library, development of systemwide professional development programs, planning and execution of systemwide conferences, forums and other events, and support of CPDC’s culture through team building activities. The position will also be responsible for a variety special projects and development of strategic communications such as staff meeting presentations, as well as HR-related activities including recruiting and oversight of the annual evaluation process.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Director of Administration, the Organizational Development Manager will perform duties as outlined below:
Oversight of Facilities Management Institute training program:
-Manage and coordinate with CPDC Units to schedule trainings with a regular cadence.
-Manage and coordinate with CPDC Units to ensure content is developed by Units in a timely manner with format consistency across Units.
-Oversee and support a strategy to ensure CSU’s learning management system supports FMI offerings.
-Set up a tiered certification program for campus personnel, based on FMI offerings.
-Develop and execute a communication strategy for FMI.
Manage CPDC onboarding and performance management workflows and serve as back up for recruiting processes:
-Serve as back up to manage paperwork for recruitments, ETF changes, performance evaluations, etc.
-Serve as back up interface with HR to ensure recruiting and other processes stay on track.
-Plan and execute systemwide programs Determine campus personnel development needs and develop programs accordingly.
-Develop and support certificate programs such as Campus Deputy Building Officials and Construction Manager programs.
Plan and execute the CSU Facilities Management Conference, forums, and other CPDC-sponsored events:
-Support planning of theme, agenda, speaker selection, location, entertainment, registration and other IT-related processes and logistics.
-Support Steering Committee meetings.
-Manage and lead a team of CPDC employees to support day-of administrative activities.
-Collect and analyze attendee feedback and document process improvements for future events.
-Lead sponsorship activities.
Plan and execute CPDC teambuilding activities:
-Plan and execute CPDC events and celebrations.
-Take actions to ensure all CPDC team members feel included.
Plan and execute CPDC professional development activities, staff meetings and other CPDC communications and events:
-Create staff meeting decks and other presentations.
-Assist in leading the CPDC Website Working Group as part of CPDC’s communication strategy.
-Assist in change management communications and activities as needed.
-Plan initiatives to develop employees and address issues raised in Staff@ Work survey.
-Facilitate department feedback mechanisms such as coffee huddles and the suggestion box.
Lead CPDC website (calstate.edu and CSU Connect) management as part of CPDC’s strategic communications:
-Lead website working group meetings to ensure CPDC Units are management their pages in a consistent manner.
-Hold CPDC Units accountable for ensuring web pages are kept up to date.
-Seek campus feedback regarding usability of websites.
-Lead other actions/activities as needed to support CPDCs website management.
Other projects as required:
-Lead or support special projects.
-Lead process improvement activities.
-Provide back up support to Executive Unit team members as needed.
Qualifications
This position requires:
-This position requires a bachelor’s degree in education, organizational development, organizational leadership, human resources, communications, or related subject, or equivalent combination of education and experience which would include a minimum or total of three (3) years project management, training, and communications experience.
-Willingness and ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues at all organizational and skill levels, demonstrating respect, teamwork and collegiality in working with others; Eager to work with others that may have diverse perspectives, and ability to facilitate a path forward that is supported by all.
-Ability to build positive relationships with and provide excellent customer service to campuses, CPDC units, and external parties.
-Experience planning and successfully executing large events.
-Experience planning and executing training classes taught by self or others.
-Strong attention to detail and focus on professional appearance of training documents, signage, agendas, etc.
-Ability to work independently, make decisions, and recommendations to management.
-Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and written, in large and small group settings.
-Ability to provide project leadership and initiative to ensure successful and timely completion.
-Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality with regard to sensitive information.
-Timely follow-through to ensure all commitments and details are covered and responsibilities are understood by all involved.
-Ability to coordinate many different tasks, determine relative importance of each, set deadlines, prioritize and complete projects accordingly; ability to learn, independently interpret and apply a variety of organizational policies and procedures.
-Experience successfully leading process improvement activities.
-High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Powerpoint, Word, and moderate proficiency in Excel; ability and willingness to learn other applications as required; attention to detail and effective presentation/design protocols in Powerpoint is absolutely required.
-Flexibility to travel (10% or less).
-Comfortable with public speaking.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience working and delivering programs within the CSU (Chancellor’s Office and/or systemwide).
-Experience in developing and executing certification programs.
-Knowledge of servant leadership concepts and ability to partner with department leadership to incorporate servant leadership into department culture.
-Experience in developing and/or using Smartsheet applications.
-Strong public speaking skills.
-Strong level of creativity in developing presentations and other written materials.
