The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is grounded in a mission to build community through communication. The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is housed within the College of Education, Health, and Human Services, which includes the School of Education and Departments of Human Development, Kinesiology, Nursing, Public Health, and Social Work. The interdisciplinary environment provides opportunities for collaborative teaching, clinical practice, scholarship, and community engagement across the region.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or related field; ABDs will not be considered
California Speech-Language Pathology License (or eligibility to obtain)
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
A minimum of 9-months of clinical experience post certification
Planned or active research program in candidate’s area(s) of expertise
Evidence of excellence, or potential for excellence, in teaching at the university level
Ability to teach and mentor students in the candidate’s area of expertise.
For appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, experience with accreditation and a record of teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with rank.
Preferred Qualifications
Our department seeks two tenure-track faculty members at the rank of Assistant and/or Associate Professor.
We invite applications from candidates representing all areas of speech-language pathology.
Expertise in motor speech disorders, pediatric speech sound disorders, voice and resonance disorders, fluency disorders, and augmentative and alternative communications is especially valued given current programmatic and curricular priorities.
The successful applicant may teach in the master’s, bachelor’s, and/or preparation programs through face-to-face or online modalities.
This individual will also be expected to advise students, Department Chair, and/or serve on culminating experience committees; develop and maintain an active research program; and serve on department, college, and university‐level committees.
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $7,481 - $7,916 per month
CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,221- $13,224 per month
